About Tanzania
Tanzania is the fifth largest country in Africa by population and is located in East Africa on the Indian Ocean. Of Tanzania’s more than 65 million inhabitants, 64% are under the age of 24. Young people therefore make up a large proportion of all areas of society in the country.
Our Work
In order to give young people and young adults in the Morogoro region hopeful prospects, we offer them vocational training in the agricultural sector together with our local partner. Through the efficient operation of small farms, the participants in our project can generate sufficient agricultural produce for themselves and for marketing to earn a sufficient income.
Major Challenges
Single mothers are particularly vulnerable groups. They are usually pushed to the margins of society and therefore have no access to the labour market or to further training and development opportunities. This group is therefore a particular focus of our work in Tanzania.
